Is Taking Cefixime Safe For Cough During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am in my third semester of pregnancy. For more than a week now i have been suffering from persistent cough and have been adviced to take deryphillin retard and Cefixime tablets along with zedex cough syrup(thrice a day). After a day i discontinued deryphillin, knowing that it crosses placenta and completed a 5 day course on cefixine. My cough has now subsided, but still the cough is yellow in colour. Now the doctor has asked me to take TusQ-x+ Expectorant along with cefixime. Is it safe?
Hi, Penicilline group of drug comes under category b for risk during pregnancy that means either human study failed to demonstrate foetal risk or human study lacking but animal study failed to demonstrate foetal abnormalities . So don't worry n have faith on your doc n continue using cefixime .
