Is There Any Connection Between HIV And Hematospermia?
I have been suffering Hametospermia for 5 weeks. After seeing a GP, I had a blood test, and there's nothing wrong. GP asked me not to worry, but keep an eye on it. I am worried about HIV infection cos I am a bi and had male sex with protection few months ago. Is there any connection between HIV and hematospermia??? I have no other abnormal symptoms. Thanks!
There is no direct connection between hematospermia and HIV. Hematospermia could be most commonly due to infection in the prostate, seminal vesicle and sometimes in the urethra. The only connection with HIV could be that HIV infection is predisposed to many opportunistic infections due to decreased immunity and may present as hematopsermia mainly due to genital infections. If no other abnormal symptoms then there is no need to worry.
Any sexual intercourse (outside of mutually monogamous HIV antibody-negative relationships) should be protected by a condom. Do not share unsterile needles or syringes.
I hope I have cleared your doubts.
Thanks.
