Is There Any Treatment For Antithyroid Microsomal Level Being 443?
My antithyroid microsomal level is currently 443, Dr says there is no treatment or advice of course of action. I've been hypothyroid since 1991 on Synthroid or the like 200mcg day. A little stumped on what I can do to help myself, do NOT want my quality of life further compromised. Any suggestions?
Antibodies are proteins made by the body to protect against micro organisms. When these antibodies turn against your own body, it leads to various dieases, which are called autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune hypothyroidism is one such disease. Now there is no such medicine which can totally prevent the formation of these antibodies. If at all we are able to do that, such medications will have many side effects. So thats not a wise thing to do. In case of hypothyroidism, the simplest form of treatment is to replace thyroid hormones. So the usual strategy is to replace thyroid hormones and not bother about the antibodies.
Hope it helps...
