Itchy Bumps On The Head Without Injury. Pain Behind The Ear And On The Side Of The Neck. What Are These?
I have large bumps on my head without injury. One is on top left sife of head with a tiny bump on it and one on the left side of my head behind my ear. Constant pain behind ear and every once in a while sharp pain in left side of my neck . The bump on top of my head is irritable and itchy but not the bump behind my ear. That one just hurts tremendiously What is happening to me?
Dear Tlende,
Hi! Your question unfortunately lacks many details like your age and since how long the bumps are there. Further it would have been good to know if there is accompanying fever along with the bumps. In case if these bumps have arisen recently and they are painful and appear warm then there could be some infection and will need some antibiotics. In case if the swelling is boggy and not painful and has stayed for long, it could be one of the various cysts and will need a surgical consultation. There are certain bumps called lipomas which stay for long, but are never accompanied with pain, which goes contrary to what you have described.
All said you need to see a surgeon for a details consultation along with some investigations such as USG, biopsy, FNAC to identify the reason.
Hope you get back to the best of your health fast.
