On Celexa Antidepressant, Trazo-done. Will This Affect Pregnancy? Suggestions
Hi. I just started taking Celexa antidepressant last night and my wife and are in the process of attempting to start a family. My dosage is 20mg once a day. I also started taking Trazo-done last night. My dosage is 100mg once a day. I'm 37 years old. Should I be concerned that either or both will make it harder for my wife to get pregnant, as far as sperm count, etc.? If so, would a non-SSRI be as beneficial yet not affect sperm? Thanks!

Celexa is citalopram and its a SSRI group drug and Trazodon is also an antidepressant which increases serotonergic transmission. Both drugs are safe drugs and if you are taking these drugs these will not have any effect on pregnancy of your wife. Also they don't cause decrease in sperm count or any other effects on sperm morphology.
