On Mirena. Having Less Frequent Periods, Light Spotting. Experiencing Phantom Kicks. Are They Real?

Are phantom kicks real? I've had Mirena since December 2011. Recently I've started feeling "kicking" just below my ribs. My periods are becoming less frequent and for the last several months are only a light spotting for 2-3 days. Should I take a test to be sure I'm not pregnant? Do a lot of women experience this with Mirena?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Some women can interpret the bowel movements etc as fetal kicks.
And this can be seen in women with mirena also.
As you are having amenorrhea for several months and as mirena is having some amount of failure rate, you once check for pregnancy to rule out that possibility.
If the test comes negative, you can come to one conclusion that the movements you are facing are not fetal movements.
