Open Sore On Mons Pubis, Filled With Blood, Tender To Touch. Should I See The Doctor ?

I just discovered about a quarter inch in diameter open sore on my mons pubis. It was only filled with blood. The past few days it was tender to the touch so I thought that it was due to an extremely bad ingrown hair, but there were no hairs in it when I finally discovered it had burst. A few days ago I had an ingrown hair that actually contained a clump of hair. Should I see a doctor?

Hello,

By history it seems to a boil. It is a superficial bacterial infection of the skin.
Clean the area thoroughly.
Check for any deep seated abscess.
In this situation I will prescribe topical antibiotic cream and a baseline antibiotic for my patients.
Consult your doctor for more help.
