hi,my name is matthew and I been experiencing pain mid way up both of my shins.
I was told it is not shin splints as the pain is located just under the shin bone.
It feels like its a bruise when you touch it and when it becomes agrivated ,running is extremly painful
I was told it could be tendonothapy but havent been given any solutions apart from rest(im 18 and play football twice a week so it could hardly be over use) and shoe insoles ,which have helped some what

Greetings of the day
It could be stress fracture of the shin which usually occurs in vigorous foot ball players. This stress fracture may be so small that it may be initially not seen on X-ray. Taking rest and Anti - inflammatory drug like diclofenac sodium along with calcium supplements will help.
