Painful Lump On Clavicle Bone Near Sternum, Stiff Neck, Right Shoulder Pain While Moving. Previous X-ray Normal. Advise?
I'm a female of 60 years and have a painful lump on my clavicle bone near sternum, also have a slightly stiff neck and pain when lifting or moving my right shoulder. Had it checked and x-rayed about a year ago (my regular MD and he referred me to an Orthopedic surgeon) they said it was nothing to worry about, but now it seems to be getting larger with pain associated with movement. Previously there wasn't pain involved just a bump about the size of half a large grape, now it's about the size of half a small egg.
Hello, Thanks for writing in. A painful lump on your clavicle near sternum (medial end) is your primary concern. As you have already shown to youer MD doctor who then referred you to an orthopedic surgeon who then said it was nothing to worry about.
Presently the lump has grown to he size of half an egg and is painful hence needs further investigation.
I would suggest you go to the same doctor or any other orthopedic surgeon and get yourself examined once again. A X ray of the area and ultrasound (if it is soft in nature) would be most helpful in knowing more about the lump.
Hope this helps.
