Palpitations, Pain In Upper Arms. Anything To Worry?

Hi
Today I had palpitations for about 20 mins. I have had palpitations before but they have never lasted more than a few seconds. I also noticed that I had a slight ache in both my upper arms that went when the palpitations stopped.
The palpitations started and stopped very abruptly. Is this something I should be worried about? I am a 34 year old female, fit and healthy! Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Having palpitations for 20 minutes must be investigated by your doctor. Palpitations can be precipitated by stress anxiety, heart problems or thyroid problems to name a few and can also be a normal reaction for some. You need to discuss in detail with your doctor and get certain tests done as felt necessary.
Try to follow a stress free lifestyle.

Hope this helps
