Paraplegic, Bedsore On Buttock, Using Deoderm. Will Magnesium Sulphate Paste Help?

Hi, I am a paraplegic. About a month back, a bedsore has developed on my buttock. I have been using Deoderm 4X4 stick-on dressings. The dressings suck the yellow matter from the bedsore and helps it in drying. Now, a friend of mine has suggested that I should use Magnesium Sulphate Paste for the bedsore. Ur comment plz. ?

hello dear
thanks for your query at HCM
bed sore you can apply betadine 1%solution or dakins solution,
no need for magnesium sulphate
other modalities of bed sore treatment are Hydrogels provide moisture to the ulcer and are best used for ulcers that have adequate granulation tissue and minimal necrotic tissue. Hydrocolloid dressings are occlusive, adhere to the wound, and promote autolytic débridement. Alginate dressings are derived from seaweed and can absorb 20 times their weight in fluid, so are good for draining ulcers. Silver impregnated dressings are used to decrease microbial count and improve healing.

Hi,
Bed sores are complicated and distressing problem to treat.
Use any antibiotic but use in lotion form.
Important thing is keep changing the body position and avoid long time pressure on bed sores.
Keep affected part not touching bed by keeping air filled rings under the bed sores.
Use air bed or water bed for sleeping.
Ok and take care.
