Pregnant. Facial Pain, Teeth Pain, Runny Nose. Am I Okay?
I am 35 and 4 days pregnant. I woke up this morning with facial pain located to my left side only. Started when I woke up at the left TMJ area and for the rest of the day the pain came and left and progressed more above the sinuse area at mid face at night the gain became stronger again. It is hard for me to chow food( tho I did do it since I thought moving the joint may help) at times it feel like there is a different sencesion btw left and right. I feel pain in my teeth too mainly the teeth right below the sinuses I have a runny nose for 3 weeks now which I thought is do to hormones . Please help!!! What is the suggested diagnosis as well as for how should I ease the pain? ASAP please
Sorry to hear that you are in pain. Well; since the pain is localized to the TMJ area it could be due to dysfunction of the TMJ. Another possibility is sinusitis; as you have a runny nose with pain in the mid facial and tooth area. If the affected is the joint; chewing soft food and using both sides of your jaw while chewing will help. Local heat to affected joint will help ease the pain. If there is an associated sinus infection; after examining you, your doctor will prescribe you drugs for the same. Steam inhalation will soothen your pain.
Take care.
