Hi Neha!
welcome to HCM!
mild itching is common in pregnancy and specially in third trimester when the skin stretches but severe itching is due to obstetric cholestasis.
Obstetric cholestasis (OC), also called intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), is a liver disorder that can develop in pregnancy.bile salts build up in your body.it causes severe itching, but it clears up once you’ve had your baby.
Udiliv is the brand name of a medicine containing ursodesoxycholic acid it is approved for use in certain specific gall bladder stones and chronic cholestatic liver disease. it is being over used for all sorts of liver disorders but has no role to play especially in pregnancy safety has not been established.Creams, such as calamine lotion, are safe to use in pregnancy and can provide some relief from itching.
Hope this will help you!
take care
