Prescription Sleep Medicine Safe To Take With Plavix?
I recently had a moderate stroke and my doctor has me on Plavix. I have been having difficulty sleeping at night and as a result I am not getting enough rest. I have tried melatonin, Unisom and Tylenol Simply Sleep tablets. None of them are working. Is there a prescription sleep medication that is safe to take with Plavix? I also have rheumatoid arthritis and take 15mg of Methotrexate per week. Thank you.

Sleep problems are common after stroke. The most common among them is difficulty falling asleep and lesser sleep duration.
In this situation, zolpidem (stilnox) manufactured by Sanofi, is a good option. The usual dose is 12.5 mg taken at bedtime.
Stilnox can be safely taken along with plavix (clopidogrel) and methotrexate.
