Racing And Pounding Heartbeat With Stress And Depression. Need To Be Concerned?
I am 19 years old and everytime I try to do anything, my heart to start racing and pounding and the area around it gets really right and I'm exhausted from nothing right now. I don't smoke, I haven't been drinking, but I've been extremely stressed, depressed, and generally down the past month but my heart has just started doing this today but I don't know if I should get it checked out or not.
Your symptoms suggest that you are having Anxiety Disorder. At this age there is no heart disease which can show such symptoms. I suggest you to see a psychiatrist. If I were your doctor I would have give you following medications
1) Inderal (Propanolol) 10 mg Three time a day.(for anxiety) 2) Escitalopram One tablet in the morning. (for depression)
These two drugs works best in patient with mixed anxiety depression disorders.
