Recurring Pimples, Dark Spots. Prescribed Supatret Gel, Acne Aid Soap. Reddishness Above Eyebrows. Should Continue Gel?
Hi, I'm aged 23. I got pimples and dark spots problems. Dark spots mainly on the forehead. This problem is recurring for past few months and after trying few conventional cosmetics, i decided to meet a dermatologist to seek a permanent solution. He has prescribed the following things: Supatret Gel(To be used at night), Acne Aid bar soap and two capsules for a duration of 5 weeks. After applying Supatret gel, i got reddishness just above the eye brows(A pimple was there and applied the gel on that spot). Is it good to continue the gel? I left the gel overnight. Should i reduce the duration? Its just 4 or 5 days into the treatment. Thanks in advance for your help. Its
Hi. supatret gel contains Tretinoin which is actually a very good anti-acne medication but it can be irritating especially at the beginning of treatment (called retinoid dermatitis). So it is sometimes advisable to use it alternate night or use it for 2 hours initially and gradually increase the duration of application as tolerance develops.
Coming to the reddishness above eyebrow dont apply treinoin/supatret on it. You can apply fluticasone/flutivate to help resolve the dermatitis quickly
All the best
