Red, Purplish Skin Peeling, On And Off Pricking During Movement In Shin Due To Being Hit. Could This Be Fracture?
Hello, I recently hit my shin and which then became a bump. I wasn't able to check it for a few hours but when I saw it again the skin was red/purplish with skin peeling all around it, and no bump. It appears that it was bleeding a little as well. Other than occasional pricking/piercing during movement, I've had no other qualms with that area. So my question could this be a serious injury like a fracture, or is it a mild injury that will be quickly healed?
As per your history and symptoms possibility of cellulitis can be considered. To confirm for fracture you may need x ray of affected part.
Consulting your doctor infection /cellulitis can be confirmed, antibiotic can be started according to examination.
If required you may need to do blood investigation for prognosis and recovery.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
