Regestrone, Irregular Periods, Etosys Mf, Unprotected Sex. Is It Safe To Take Unwanted 72?

hello doc, I am 28 years old married female and my weight is 62 kilos. My gynec suggested me to take resestrone tab from 16th May to 4th June 2012 due to my irregular menses (which came from 29th April to 4th may 2012 and again on 12th may to 14th may 2012, My gynec asked me to take Etosys MF tab for stopping the bleeding and then from 16 May he asked me to take regestrone.. But last night we had a unprotected sex, and i want to take unwanted72 to prevent any pregnancy. Is it safe to take unwanted 72 with regestrone tab......or is there any need to take any other tab..........pls guide Pls note I have a 1.4 months child also......... Thanks and Regards Renu

Welcome to Heealthcaremagic.

Taking Unwanted 72 is the only choice available now other than getting a copper T inserted for emergency contraception.

Unwanted 72 contains high dose of progesterone which is the same but low dose in rgestrone.

Hence taking unwanted 72 will surely affect the periods causing irregularity in them.Do consult your gynaecologist for the same.
