Hi there I just got scan results back they said The uterus measures 88 x 38x 54mm. Endometrium measures4mm. No focal abnormality. Right ovarian volume is 14cc with small peripheral follicles. Not fulfilling criteria for cystic ovary . Left ovarian volume is 5.5cc. No adnexal abnormaity. Biochemical correlation recommended. What does this mean ? My Doctor has sent me to get a blood test for Liver funtion and CA125 why would she do this ?
As mentioned in your report, Right ovarian volume is 14cc with small peripheral follicles. Not fulfilling criteria for cystic ovary . Left ovarian volume is 5.5cc.
Normal ovary volume is take upto 10 cc. In your report the right ovary is 3 times the size of left one besides it is not typically a cystic ovary either as expressed by your doctor.
You have not told the reason why you got ultrasound done and if liver also has any changes.
Any ways CA125 is a biochemical marker and is a very sensitive blood test for ovary disease. I suggest your doctor wants to make a more clear diagnosis and wants to rule out any major problems.
Hope this helps.
