Severe Pain In Frontal Sinus. Tried Saline Rinses. What Am I Recommended?
It s been 36 hours since I landed. Upon descent I got severe pain in my left frontal sinus and it s still there. Seems like the sinus can t drain. I ve tried saline rinses. Decongestants and I m already on an antibiotic from a different infection. I went to the dr and they said its just a normal sinus infection . Prescribed me more antibiotics and decongestants. Nothing works. I m in severe pain. What are your recommendations?
Hi, Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic. Continue the medications as advised by the doctor. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for furthe4 evaluation. X ray of paranasal sinuses and CT scan will help to confirm the diagnosis. For pain you can take ibuprofen in prexcribed dose. Hope I have answered your question. Regards.
The pain may be due to inflammation and mucosal swelling of the sinus which may be blocking it drainage. You may have to continue the antibiotics and decongestants. Once the infection subsides then endoscopic visualization and sinus drainage may help to reduce the pain.
