Severe Pain In Knee Due To Arithritis. Prescribed Glucosamine, Fish Oil. Any Procedure Where Silicone Injections Are Injected To Knee For Pain Relief?
Could you please tell if there is a procedure where silicone injections are injected into the knee for arthritis? My husband is only a young 64 years , trying to stay active but is suffering from arthritis. The pain can get so bad it wakes him up at night. We have been to the doctors and he has suggested glucosamine, fish oil. His diet is a good healthy diet fresh veg & fruit....could do with some advice. We have been told he is to young for knee surgery!

total knee replacement will help him to be relieved of pain . there is no silicon injection for knee joint

Your husband has osteoarthritis of both knees and glucosamine has not been found to have great effect in this disease. Also, No silicon injections are used for this. So, only options left in this disease are 1. Physiotherapy 2. Knee replacement. I will advice you to go for replacement if your husband really wants to be active and 64 Y is the right age for this surgery. Meet replacement specialist in your area and discuss.
