injury to your leg (twisting.direct trauma).,pain during any particular movt,fever,is the swelling continuous or on and off....gout can be ruled out by few blood tests(uric acid levels,kidney tests ,
synovial fluid of joint analysis,cbp,esr etc)
gout usually affects great toe or can affect other jts like knee..usually gout pain occur in the nights..pain gets worse with ,trauma,alcohol,fructose intake.meat and sea foods..so avoid them..
diagnosis and treatment are simple..
consult a rheumatologist ,rule out any other causes,infective autoimmune problems,,
and get well soon...
