Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Sharp Pain In The Right Side Of The Chest For A Couple Of Months.
I have a sharp pain in the right side of my chest which feels like a lung infection but when I inhale or exhale the lung is fine. I had it a couple of months ago but it wore off but it is back again and I am concerned. I have to hold my rib cage sometimes and if I turn it causes me to quince.
It appears to be a strain in the muscles of the rib cage, which you probably inadvertently sustained during some rapid movement. Had it been an infection in the lung, you would also have had other symptoms like fever, cough, malaise etc. Try using a hot compress as it will help the injured muscles to heal faster. If you still are worried about this being a lung pathology, you can consult your doctor and get a chest X-ray done.
Best wishes.
