Sharp Pain On Foot, Swelling. Is It Due To Overweight?
Since Monday, I have had sharp pain on the top of my left foot . There is a knot of some sort and some swelling . The most pain is on the high part of your foot, *top side, with the knot off to the side a little, pain radiates down towards toes. I stand on my feet all day. I don t remember doing anything to it to make it hurt. I can t even sleep that is how much it hurts. I am 38, overweight , about 5ft 3in.
Hi ! From your history, it seems that you might be developing varicose veins of the foot, which develops due to your standing all the day on your foot. This can be diagnosed by a clinical examination by your family physician/surgeon. Till that you can go for pressure garments which are made to order for your foot. You can enquire about it from your local chemist who may be having idea about the agency who may make it for you. Keep your feet elevated whenever you are free. If this increases, then you may have to go for some surgery. If possible, I would suggest you to avoid standing for prolonged periods as a preventive measure. Take care.
