Should I Be Worried As My Son Is Having Migraines, Vomiting And Blood While Blowing His Nose?
My 26 year old son suffers from migraines....One or two every couple of months. His girlfriend just called me to say that he was having a terrible migraine, worse than what she has ever seen him have. He also threw up and also blew his nose and had blood in his nose. He told her that this migraine was not like his other migraines where he can usually tell one if coming. This one just arrived with no warning. I am worried.
Hello and welcome to Health care Magic. Migraines can be of two types-those with aura and those without.Aura means that the person can predict the arrival of migraine. From your description its clear that he just had one without aura, and its OK. There is nothing to worry whether aura is present or not.But the important fact is that he needs to be investigated as this one was the worse of all and had blood in nasal secretions. My advice is to let him visit a Neurologist and he will take a CT scan of his head. There are many effective prophylactic drugs available now which can prevent the occurrence of migraines. The doctor will definitely start him on one of those.
Hope this discussion will be helpul to you.have a Great day.
