Should I Keep Taking Ibuprofen After Surgical Removal Of Spleen?

I just had my spleen removed 3 weeks ago! I had 2 blood transfusions in the last month - they tried to save the spleen and then had to take it out after the spleen turned into a hematoma (spelling). Should I keep taking ibuprofen (800 mgs) and iron supplements? And I don t know why I don t have an appetite and when I do eat I don t feel good

Hello dear,
Ibuprofen is given to bring down the pain and inflammation. It can be stopped once the wound is healed, and pain&inflammation has gone.Iron supplements may have to be continued for a few months to replenish the loss.Your treating doctor will guide you in this.
Your low apatite, can be from the insult caused by the major surgery you had.It will become normal gradually in a few weeks.Take plenty of fruits and veges to have adequate vitamins and minerals.I guess the surgery followed an accident, and not for conditions like ITP/thalassemia.
Wishing a faster recovery.Thank you.
