Small Child, Cold, Cough. On Wikoryl Af Drops. Side Effects Of Medicine?
Sir , My 45 days baby boy got cold (rarely mucus coming through the nose ) not continuous running nose and he coughs occasionally , our pediatrician suggested us to give wikoryl af (6 drops morning and night) iam giving that for past 6 days. does this medication affects the child , How to know whether he is ok , shall I stop the med. suggestion pl.

Your baby is just 45 days old. Wikoryl contains chlorphenaramine maleate which is not advised for children less than 6 months of age. Moreover it can cause excessive sedation in infants. It is important at this stage to check his progress and assess whether there has been any improvement in the last 6 days. If the symptoms are worsening, do get him reviewed at the earliest.
