Small Child, Sneezing, Green Mucus, Nasal Discharge, Fever, Chest Congestion. Treatment?
My daughter who is 3 had sneezed yesterday & blew out a lot of green snot then went to being a runny nose then a few hours after that one nostril was bleeding then cleared up. No blood in snot at all that happened and then this morning when she pooped there was some blood with it which look dried to me she has been running a fever on & off since Christmas Eve along with horrible cough & sounds like her chest is conjested. Just wondering what it could be especially with blood. Thank you
hello and welcome to hcm
3 years old with fever, cough and congested chest along with green sputum all indicates towards respiratory tract infection. also you should check if she hadn't put a foreign body in her nostril. you should keep community acquired pneumonia or bronchitis/laryngitis/pharyngitis as differentials. get your daughters blood work and chest X-rays done immediately. visit your physician immediately.
hope this helps

HI.
Thanks for query
as per the symptoms your daughter is having respiratory infection.i suggest you to take her to pediatrician as she need blood test and x ray chest to be done to rule out infection, meanwhile give her paracetamol for fever, give her hot fluids.
your daughter will be fine.
hello kristy, don't worry this blood is due to throat infection. In throat infection our skin become thin and inflammed thats why when we cough sometime it bleeds , you can use antibiotic cefixime 5 ml/50 syrup 5ml twice daily with ibupfren srup three time daily with ambroxil plus salbutamol cough syrup 3/4 tsf three time daily. Use lukewarm water for drinking.
