Small Child Suffered Several Head Injuries, Getting Frequent Headaches. Treatment Options?
My 6 year old daughter is complaining of head pain above her neck , she had this kind of a pain a month ago in the middle of the night and i rubbed her neck with vicks and she felt better and this is the second time she has got this pain again. she has had many (countless) falls on her head from the time she started walking do you think this must be the cause of the pain please help me.
Hi and thanks for the query,
headaches generally could be primary (migraines, cluster headaches or tension headaches) or secondary headaches (trauma, cerebral and meningeal bleeding, tumours, abscesses etc). The headaches described in this child actually deserves that a secondary cause should be excluded. A clinical evaluation to exclude epilepsies in children with a CT scan and electroencephalogramme could be very useful. The opinion of a neurologist in my humble opinion is very necessary. I suggest you take an appointment with a neurologist for proper evaluation and probable prescription of brain CT Scans, MRIs and electroencephalogrammes. Thanks and best regards,
