Suffer From Epilepsy. Injury To Head. Concerned About Epilepsy Coming Back
Hello My sister has got epilepsy and last night she had some bleedings in her head such as injuries, first it seemed like it was an area which has been hit in her bed, but 2 days later the wound became like gathering a bunch of dead skin( such as when you cut the skin around your fingers) therefore, I just thought it was a sign that epilepsy symptoms are back. Sometimes she becomes very aggressive and rarely she is happy with herself and others. I d be very released if you would feedback my question. I am feeling very depressed. Please help me !
Epilepsy or any single episode of seizure should not be ignored. As she also suffered injury on head with bleeding so most likely she got injury due to sudden fall because of loss of consciousness. So seizure type is also not simple. First of all visit ER and get dressing of her wound done.
Secondly, visit a good Neurologist and take advise about her seizures, treatment options are available and with good response.
Her EEG and MR scan should also be done to rule out any pathology in brain.
Medicines like Phenatoin, Carbamazepine, Sodium Valproic acid, etc are given for seizures and are with very less side effects.
So take opinion from a good neurologist.
Thanks
Take Care
