Suffering Form Strep Throat. Taking Antibiotics. Should I Avoid Meeting 1 Year Old Baby?
Hi my daughter went on a two day trip with her friend ( and her friend's boyfriend) who had been on antibiotics for 24-30 hours for strep throat. It has been three days since my daughter last saw her friend, and my daughter is still okay. She is worried about seeing her baby cousin tomorrow who is 1 yr old because she feels she might still get the strep throat or pass it to the baby. Should she avoid seeing the baby?
Hello,
If her friend had active sneezes, cough nasal discharge fever etc then your daughter should avoid meeting the little baby.
Otherwise 24 hrs of antibiotic usage can make the person less infectious .
And for past 3 days your daughter does not have any symptoms , so it seems that she will not be infecting others and she can very well go and meet the little baby.
In doubt do reply
