Hi, I have had an IUD for the past 2 years. This last 8 months my bf has been rubbing against the strings of it. And now he has sores/cuts on his penis. I don't want to cut the strings, as when I got it inserted I passed out from the pain and don't want to make the xperience of removal any worse than I'm thinking it will be. What do you recommend for a contraception? I have been informed by doctors to stay away from hormones that are in birth control. Help! as i need answers sooner than later..
For sores and cuts on penis after rubbing against the string of an IUD, it is better to remove IUCD and start daily contraceptive pill Yaz. Take Yaz once a day at a fixed time. don't miss any pill and take for 28 days and restart new packet from day 29th day. Birth control pills are low dose hormonal pills and if take properly will not causes any issue. Hence, it is best contraceptives pill.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
