Suggest Medication For Cold And Cough
I have had cough and cold since the last 4 week and I still have it,I had seen my GP and they have checked my sputem and it is negtive. They have taken my chest x-ray but I have 5 more days to receive my report. On the second week the GP had given me Antibiotic Doxicycline and I am taking steam inhalation 3 time a day but still I am chesty and full of cold. Could you please give an advise?

Cough , common cold, chest congestion , such type of symptoms develop due to allergy .
As allergy produces bronchoconstrition and this causes cold , cough , whistling sound or wheezing ( in many patient including breathlessness ) . When such type of patient visit I prescribe them Monteleukast+ bambuterol ( combo pack ) twice or once in day dependin upon the condition of patient and disease.
Doxycyline is a bacteriostatis drug and don't have much effect in bronchoconstriction.
Steam inhalation is very good for you , hot coffee also causes broncodilation.
Also get in blood for E S R ( if very high >70 mm 1st hour ) then consult a physician and get his opinion .
