Suggest Medication For "Linear Pulmonary Fibrosis"

My nephew was diagnosed with Linear ? Fibrosis. My neice advised that she can't remember the name after Linear but that it started with a "p". Do you know what this might be and/or how serious is the condition?
He is 38 y/o male and a smoker for many years & is still smoking. Don't know his exact wgt but do know that he is overweight and also has sleep apnea & is on a cpap.

Nevermind, I did not realize there was a charge for this inquiry...............Thanks and have a great day!

Hi,
Your nephew was diagnosed with linear pulmonary fibrosis or linear atelectasis. This is a scar in the lung which can happen following infections like pneumonia or can happen following mild obstruction of distal bronchus (distal airways) due to mucus plugs. It is also seen more in overweight or obese individuals due to incomplete lung expansion.

First of all let me assure you that it is not a serious condition. Chest physiotherapy and breathing exercises along with some expectorants might clear this shadow. Repeat chest x-ray after 2 weeks or 1 month of treatment.

Hope I have cleared your doubts. Thank you for using HCM
