since two days iwas having cold&throat infection.i went an ent specialist who gave me AZUMA 500mg and one antiallergic medicine.iconsumed one dose each yesterday.But yesterday night after dinner igot fever & started shivering. Today morning i went to a medicine specialist who suspects malaria&has given moxikind.cv 625&lumerax-80 andBIFILAC.I have given blood, urine for testing.Will itake medicene now or wait till blood report.my age is 50. male
Hello, Welcome to HCM. As per the recent guidelines for malaria treatment, empirical treatments based on suspicion is not recommended. It is only reserved for the cases where diagnoses by blood examination is not possible. In your case, you have already sent blood for malaria testing. It should not take long to get the reports,so it would be wise to wait for the report and take definitive treatment based on the result. Treatment will slightly differ for P. faliciperum and P.vivax malaria. I would advise you to take medicines for fever and wait for the report followed by definitive management based on the report.
