Hi
According to your weight for height, it appears to me that your body weight considerably above the expected range for your height (body mass index of about 32). Being overweight/obese is the most common cause of the problem of snoring.
Since you have quit smoking recently, i would like to know if you have experienced a recent gain in weight?
Snoring occurs basically as a result of partial blocking of your windpipe by the tongue falling back in your mouth, when you lie down on your back during sleep.
Yes, there is a remedy!
If I was in your place, i would begin with working on my weight reduction, by regular moderate exercise and balanced eating habits. A change in sleeping position on bed also helps. Prefer to sleep on your sides or on tummy down to prevent snoring.
When these measures don't work after following for a few weeks to months, you can always consult with a doctor in your vicinity and get help with treatment options like CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure, wherein a mask is used for smooth airflow in your windpipe during sleep). Surgery is the last option, only reserved for severe cases.
It is advisable to work on this symptom as early as possible in order to avoid worsening in the future or the rare possibility of its related complications on the lungs or the heart system (cardio-pulmonary).

Hope this addresses your worry, feel free to ask more questions if any.
