General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Seven days' suffering is a long time hence I would advise you the following:
* Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations if needed say for example throat swab, tests of blood for WBC count and to rule out diabetes.
* Take Ibuprofen for symptomatic relief.
* Nasal and oral decongestant for cold and runny nose.
* Prescription based antibiotic.
* Povidone Iodine gargles.
* Plenty of oral fluids.
Continue the medicines till cured.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
