Suggest Remedy For Bronchial Cough

I have had a bronchial cough for about a month. Did Z-Pac after 2 weeks and it did not do much. Went back, chest x-ray was clear and was put on cednifir. Been on it for 4 days and cough is still prevalant although seems better. No coughing when there is no exertion or at night but cough still appears periodically thru the day. How long may this cough last? Will the antibiotic work effectively after 10 days? Will antibiotic be effective if it is bronchial spasm?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
Before going through so many medications I think it will be better to evaluate it first by the following investigations -
1. Spirometry with bronchodialator reversibility
2. Absolute eosinophil count
3. Total serun IgE
4. HRCT scan thorax
It may be a bronchospasm, may be the presentation of cough variant asthma.
If it is then you need to take inhalers to relieve it completely.
Do consult a good pulmonologist and get yourself thoroughly examined.
Thank you.
