Hi,
The cause of
diarrhea accompanying periods may likely be due to endometriosis; that is presence of endometrial tissue in areas other then
uterus. When the tissue is in intestine during every cycle, it is stimulated due to action of hormone causing pain and irritation of intestinal mucosa and that may lead to diarrhea.
You must consult a specialist to be evaluated and treated for the problem. It is important that you modify your lifestyle to deal the issues your facing due to gastrointestinal disturbance .Firstly, add a fiber supplement like Lactifiber each day to your bed time routine.
Then use
probiotic supplement that is easily available over the counter, like Pronutrition advanced probiotic capsules daily to increase the beneficial gut bacteria that will help preventing diarrhea.
Imodium should be avoided as it will only retain the stool in the intestine and cause various bacteria to flourish in the retained matter, doing more harm then good. Moreover, IBS is caused due to
stress and can be treated by reducing stress factors.
Try
meditation,
yoga, evening walk, drinking chamomile or rosebud tea to reduce stress and remember all these issues will not effect your sexual well being unless. Hence, you should try not to over think and increase stress which will only worsen your problems.
Lastly, eat a well balanced diet with ample of whole grains, vegetables, probiotic like curd and avoid sugary drinks, excess intake of coffee and tea, spicy food and fried food.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
