Suggest Remedy For Severe Back Pain Due To Falling
hey ive had spinal fusion in 2006.a month ago i was at the park and i was running and fell and hit my arm.i then felt an automatic shck that went shot straight to my back.now when i breathe sit pick anything up my back kills.my moms makin a app with my surgeon.shes callin tomarrow but it takes a long time for me to get in about a month or so.the pain hasnt gotton any better its actually gettin worse.i had the surgery because of scoliosis.also ive tried pain meds i can take any ibprofen products due to me bein on lithium and serequel.ive tried cold packs hot packs.ive tried pain meds.nothin seems to work.what am i to do until i can be seen?and do you think this could be related to the surgery?thanks

Dear patient
There are two possibilities considering your symptoms 1. Vertebral compression fracture 2. Disc prolapse. I would advise strict bed rest. Take a visit to nearby radiology center and do mri of dorsalumber spine with screening of whole spine. MRI gives information about 1. Vertebral fracture 2. Disc prolapse 3. Nerve compression 4. Status of fusion . Spinal fusion makes spine stiff with decreased movements and hence degenerative of adjacent vertebral level increase which puts at higher risk of fracture with minor trauma. Please go for early mri and take consultation to your operating surgeon asap. Meanwhile take tab durapain twice a day with tab pantocid 40mg twice a day for pain relief.
