Suggest Treatment For 60-80 Pus Cells In Urine Of 9 Month Baby

Hi doc! My son 9mnth old got 60-80 pus cells in urine & has a temp of 104, hence doc admitted to hosp, gave monocef thru iv, orally mephtal p & calpol drops, after discharge, he is on taxim o syp for 5days after that we have to start niftas 50 1/2 tab every night, doc has advised usg kub, mcu & dmsa, is there a need for these tests as i read abt dmsa which again requires iv injection?

I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* Heavy urinary tract infection , as mentioned here is taken care with IV
antibiotics and patient is on oral medications at present .

* Now as per the clinical recovery phase , need of USG and MCU is
acceptable for definite pathology evaluation , but I disagree with the
DMSA scan at this point of time .

* Best management guidelines are carried out with culture report of urine
not mentioned here but I think must have done , if not done required .
* Rest continue to maintain hydration with plenty of liquids , continue
current medications .
