I was treated for an infection behind my right ear on the bony ridge....I think the lymph node or gland was infected. The antibiotics brought the hard lump down, but it still feels a little more protruding than the left ear. Should I see my doctor? Is there sometimes a difference between the ears?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Ideally there should be no difference between the ears. The lump behind the ear must be investigated and as per your history this still looks to be large enough. I would suggest in all such patients to get the lump removed for 2 reasons: 1. you get rid of the lump as the best treatment as for any lump and 2. you get a confirmed diagnosis by getting the histo-pathology report.
I hope this answer helps you to get rid of the problems and get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
