Suggest Treatment For A Spot Caused By A Needle Prick
i am a garbage man and was poked by a needle through the bag in the leg. i took the needle out and it says insulin on it. i was woundering if i should be real concerned about it? there is just a small red spot under the skin right now. this happened yesterday
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a red spot at the site of needle pricking is not an abnormal finding and it occurs due to inflammation caused as a result of soft tissue injury with the needle.. In case if the individual who used the needle had some infection or as it was with the garbage the pricking can cause infection in your body too.. So I would suggest you to consult an Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and he can advise you blood investigation to rule out for any infection and can treat you accordingly.. An early diagnosis can help in treatment at early stage and you will be saved from symptoms of severity of disease..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora.
