Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have a barthilins cyst that was infected i took antibiotics and the pain has gone but had side affects from the agumentine and naproxen i was taking but the cst is still there and has not gone down the swelling has gone down but the cst is the same size as a duck egg
Hi, i do care for your concern. The bartholin cyst develops due to blockage in duct that drains the cyst, it is a benign condition. In your case it has been infected and treated with antibiotic. The consistent and recurrent cyst can only be drained under minor surgical procedure. I would advise to consult your gyanec, and to opt with different surgical procedure available for draining the cyst. In chronic cases marsupialization procedure will be more effective. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
