Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 6 years daughter is soiling her underwear from 2 month approximately,it s a small quantity and she says that sometimes she doesn t even know that she did and that sometimes she can t hold until she reaches the bathroom it happens everyday and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.I tried for one week to encourage her to go regularly to bathroom but still it s not helping.I read about encopresis but she is not constipated as she has at least one bowel movement every day
Soiling usually happens when a child is so constipated that a large, hard piece of poo becomes stuck at the end of their gut.
Keep they could sit on the toilet for 5 to 10 minutes every day after breakfast and again after their evening meal.
Encourage your child to go to the toilet as soon as they get the urge to during the day.
Make sure your child is drinking plenty of fluids and has enough fibre in their diet. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
