hi. my daughter is 11 years old and has cystic fibrosis. She is doing extremely well and has no problems as of yet with her lung function. She was born with meconium illeus and has surgery at 8 days old to remove the blockage as well as her appendix. She has had abdominal pain for a few years and has tried various meds to try and relieve the discomfort, such as, obiously her enzymes she takes with every meal & snack, but they have tried mineral oil, P.E.G. powder, lactulose (spelling?), pico salax & ducolax. She is currently taking the last two as needed but the pain is severe and she is starting to miss school. She goes to her CF clinic in two weeks as wel as her first visit to a gastroenterologist (spelling?) at the same time. I also give her motrin for pain. The pain can be anywhere in the circle around her belly button... right side left side both.. she has the pain before & after bowel movements and throughout the day. She has missed school and come home from school 3 times in the last couple weeks from the pain which this is the first time it has interfered with school and doing other fun things. Do you have any suggestions that I can either try or ask at her dr. visit to get some answers to help this poor little girl. Thank you so much for your time.
