hi my name is darren i am 18 yrs old and i have type one diabetes. My blood sugar level at the moment is 2.9, however, i should be asting for a 12 hour blood test tommorow ( 9.30am) do i leave it and see if my glucose level corrects itself like it has before without consuming anything i should i take something, but this would make my blood test results inaccurate tommorow??
if 2.9 is mmol/L then this is too low. If you've done insulin then this is expected to get even lower and you'll get hypoglycemia. So you should definitely eat something. For most tests 8-10 hours are enough for an accurate result. Besides that you can also go a little later to the laboratory unless you've got a strict appointment. I hope I've addressed your concerns! If you have further questions, please let me know. I'll be glad to answer.
Kind Regards!
