I am suffering from diabetes since fifteen days.kindly advice . What kind of tablets to take.without any side effects. age 56 years, height 5.8 ft,weight 75kg, since 10 days i am taking two(ONE in the morning & one after dinner)) tablets GLIMEPIRIDE AND METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE SR TABLETS.
Dear Sir/Madam, The tablets you have mentioned are absolutely safe. They have been time tested and proven to work without any complications. I am a bit concerned about the dosing for a newly diagnosed diabetic. I feel its a stiff dose. Unfortunately i do not have your blood sugar values which would have helped comment on dosing more confidently. My experience is that if a take a detail history , explain to the patient really well the patient who has developed diabetes recently responds well to metformin alone. glimepride is a very good tablet but in a recently diagnosed diabetic it may sometimes cause hypoglycemia when the sugars are getting stabilized. Now since i dont have your complete details i suggest you to regularly check blood sugars and get in touch for any further queries. Dr.Riyaz Sheriff
