My father is 74 and had been diagnosed long ago with diabetes. He has since changed his lifestyle and is no longer required to take any meds for the diabetes and his sugars are quite well within normal range. Due to the diabetes, however, he developed what was diagnosed as peripheral polyneuropathy. The worst symptom he is dealing with, and one which we can't seem to find a solution to, is that his hands and feet are unbearably cold almost all the time. Is there anything that we can do for this? He is on Neurontin and Tramadol. He is 5'7" tall and weighs in at 135 pounds. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Respected Sir, as per your narration fine sugar control is worth appreciable. now concerning extreme cold level hands and feet is related to decreased microvascular circulation in the Diabetes though its under control. what at all you can do is immersing hands and feet in leukwarm water for 15-20 minutes 3-4 hourly along with continuation of your current meds.do some home exercises for the wrist movements and feet which will help you at long term basis. so far as walking is concerned if he can do 30-40 minutes walking taking fresh ozone in morning it would be appreciable dear. thanks regards hope these points help you to some extent, wishing fast speedy recovery for your father and God gives you enough strength to take his care at your best level till he lives. Bye
