Suggest Treatment For Shin Splint Along With Abnormal Legs

i have a problem with shin splints...recently i took some x rays of my legs and they found that on the lower part of both of my legs on the shin..the one side of the bone is thicker than the other..what does that mean..will i get shin splints more often because of my leg abnormality?what do i have to do if i want to continue boxing and running long distances without a sing of problem?
